Summer Midday break in UAE from Jun15 to Sept 15.

A mandatory midday break for labourers during the summer months will start from June 15 and end on September 15, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced on 5 th June 2018.

The decision by the ministry prevents any work under direct sunlight between 12.30 pm and 3 pm for three months.

They must also provide a place of rest in the shade with Air Conditioner  during the midday break.  Employers must also provide cool water and restorative drinks to their employees during this time.

Violating companies will be fined Dhs 5000 per worker and a maximum of 50,000 if the case involves a large number of workers. The company can be degraded and possibly even temporarily stopped from operating.
